Tonight, Pastor E.A Adeboye’s sermon was focused on deliverance. Text was from Psalm 91:5-10
Psalm 91 can be referred to as “the Christian’s insurance policy”. As a Christian, you read this scripture and can be rest assured.
Deliverance is not only for the demon possessed because bondage can be in various forms.
Bondage means anything that hinders you from achieving your full potential. Anything that does not allow your joy to be full. Anything that doesn’t not allow you to live life abundantly. Anything that hinders your progress. Anything other than that which God planned for your life.
A person can be in bondage in sickness. In John 5:2-9 there was a man sick for 38 years, he was in a “prison without walls”, going round in circles.
A person can be in bondage to poverty. Proverbs 22:7, Proverbs 10:15. 2 Kings 4:1-7.
A person can be in bondage maritally. In Genesis 30:1, there was a woman, Rachael, who was aggrieved by barrenness and was contemplating suicide but God showed up for her.
A person can be in bondage spiritually. It might not be you, it could be someone precious to you, that you can’t ignore. If this is your case, you’re also in a form of bondage. In Matthew 15:1-28, it wasn’t the woman who was sick but her daughter.
Deliverance can be in various forms just as bondage is in various forms,
The Almighty God can deliver you if you’re passing through a problem. He can allow you go through the problem if that will give Him greater glory.
In Daniel 3:13-30. The 3 Hebrew boys were thrown into the fire and then, God delivered them. He could have delivered them before they were thrown in.
In some cases, He can “pluck” you out. In Exodus 12:1-36, the children of Israel had been in bondage for years! But God pulled them out. Daniel 6 is also another example. There was no way Daniel could come out of that den physically speaking with hungry lions but God showed up.
He could cause you to fly over the problem in some cases, in such a manner that those who are troubling you will be below and you’ll be gone. It is possible for the Almighty God to deliver you in such a manner that you’ll never borrow again – 2 Kings 4:1-7. Acts 12.
God can stop the trouble before it even gets to you. You don’t even know that danger was on the way. God can see to it that danger does not come to you at all. Acts 9:1-9.
There’s deliverance of a higher level where you’ll be dealing with trouble from a position of strength. 2 Kings 2:9-14. “Superiority complex”, you look at the enemy like they don’t even matter to you!
The type of deliverance called flying means you can live the rest of your life in absolute peace. It doesn’t mean the enemy will leave you alone but it means you keep enjoying yourself and leave them to plot and plan because God has said they will fall and you won’t have to do any fighting. Isaiah 54:15. Deuteronomy 28:7. Ephesians 6:16-23.
As a true child of the Living God, thousands may fall right and left but don’t be afraid, they can’t come near you.
Tonight, all you have to do is claim your deliverance.
