After Peter and his partners brought their ships to the shore, they abandoned everything and followed Jesus. These men had just received a huge miracle from Jesus, but their top most priority was to follow Him. What Jesus did for them was not enough to make them forget to follow Him. Their testimonies did not distract them from the Master. They didn’t love the gift more than the Giver.
Friend, whatever God does for you is not more important than following Him. The blessings of God on your life do not mean that you don’t need God anymore. The more God blesses you, the more you need Him in your life. The more God opens doors for you, the more you should walk closely with Him. Whatever miracle, breakthrough, testimony, etc God grants you is a platform to increase your commitment to God.
When Peter began to follow Jesus full time, he eventually became the chief of the Apostles. What he achieved when he was a part time follower of Jesus was nothing compared to what he became when he chose to be a full time follower and worshipper. The blessings of your part time commitment to God can never be compared to the relevance you will attain when you commit to God full time.
If all you do is to receive blessings and walk away, be careful, blessings are not all there is to life. There is a purpose to fulfil beyond the blessings you have received or will receive; the material things you receive from God should not make you lose sight of the destiny God wants you to fulfil.
Stay connected to God and deepen your commitment to Him no matter the blessings you have received. There are higher heights than whatever God has done for you. Don’t let the gifts take the place of the Giver.
Pray With Me: Lord, whatever You give me will never take Your place, in Jesus’ name!
