I was having a conversation with my friend Yomi. We were talking about the parable of the sower in Matthew 13 and what stood out to us. It was verse 21 for me.
“But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word.” – Matthew 13:21 NLT
These are Jesus’s words!
A few days went by and the Holy Spirit helped me understand this verse. For every word I take in, I should expect trouble and persecution because of it. The enemy would rather I don’t know the truth so he tries to make sure the word has no root in me.
Meditation – What truth from God’s word are you taking in? Are you having trouble believing it because of a current situation. How can you allow the Holy Spirit let this word take root?
