The sermon taught by Pastor E.A. Adeboye yesterday was a great reminder for me. He’s been teaching a series on “From lockdown to leaping up” and every sermon has been so insightful!
“So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from Him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly”.
Matthew 6 verse 33 (The Passion Translation)
“… and He will give them to you if you give Him first place in your life and live as He wants you to”.
Mathew 6 verse 33 (The Living Bible)
Pastor Adeboye reminded me that it is those who seek God first that have great success.
I remember sometime in 2016, I took out a week to evangelize. I joined my church at the time (Living Faith Church, AKA Winner’s Chapel), to go out and invite people to church.
Everyday for a week, we distributed fliers, answered questions that were asked about our faith and invited people to church.
That week, whenever I thought about something I needed, I didn’t even have to pray. The next day, someone gifted it to me! I truly believe in practicing what the Bible says and if God wants me to seek Him first, that’s what I’m going to do.
Pastor Adeboye mentioned that Elisha wanted a double portion of Elijah’s anointing. He wanted it to do great things – helping the people of God.
You can find his story in the Bible from when Elijah chose him to be his assistant in 1 Kings 19, to when he got a double portion of Elijah’s anointing in 2 Kings 2 and his story ends in 2 Kings 13.
I asked myself “Why do you want to prosper Abiola?”
I have so many things in my heart I want to do for God and just like Elisha, David, Paul, Daniel and I want my life to draw people to Him. So I’m choosing to seek God first, agree with His word and be at peace!
I believe because I’ve made this decision, EVERY other thing will be added to me. Would you care to join me in this?
