“A soft and gentle and thoughtful answer turns away wrath, But harsh and painful and careless words stir up anger.”
PROVERBS 15:1 AMP
My dad taught me to ALWAYS stay calm when I’m very upset or provoked. To never react on impulse. To always pray for strength to be silent especially when I’m upset even if I might have the right to be.
“Just apologize for whatever was happening with whoever it is and find a quiet place to calm down”. – He would say.
To be honest in the past, I struggled with this but I learnt overtime that he was right. It was the best way to handle things. I still react sometimes but it’s not as often as it was 2/3 years ago and I’m thankful for that.
Even in times when you have upset someone else, instead of justify your actions, apologize even though it might be hard but it definitely will keep things calm.
I have nominated you on the Sunshine Blogger Award because your writing inspires me and I like the reminders which help someone become a better individual. I believe others also feel the same.
