Be the best, be the very best

Reaching-Your-Potential

The headline “Be the best, be the very best” is the title of a book written by a great man of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye. He is the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

This book is a call to excellence that challenges you to live up to your God given potential. Let the words be etched on your heart and let them propel you to the top.

I’ll share some points he gave in the book and at your free time, go through the bible texts. I believe this will help you live a life of excellence.

You are to love your neighbour like yourself, not more than yourself. Be number one and wish your neighbour the best. – Mark 12:30-31

Many run in a race but only one wins. Be the one that wins. – 1 Corinthians 9:24

The one who wins will only be crowned if he runs according to the rules. Run according to the rules of God. The rules of God can be summarized in two words; Be Holy! – 1 Peter 1:14-16

Forgetting the past, i press forward“; Old victories are like ashes, beware, lest they put out your fire and you become an ex-this or ex-that. Go for fresh victories always!. – Philippians 3:13-14

Outside forces intend to slow you down, stop you and then push you back, but what is inside you is more than enough to overcome all resistance. – 1 John 4:4

If you are willing to be number one, God will cooperate with you. – Ephesians 3:20

You cannot afford to stop running until you are called up into glory. Endure unto the end for therein lie your salvation. – Matthew 24:13

It is not the one leading at the beginning that gets the crown; it’s the one leading at the end. – Revelation 2:10

It takes discipline to become number one and even greater discipline to remain number one. When you consider the sorrows of an ex-champion, you will realise that discipline is worth it. – 1 Corinthians 9:25, Judges 16:18-30

At the end of the race, every runner is exhausted. It is the joy of victory that gives the victor strength to run the victory lap. Do not be exhausted for nothing: run to win. – Nehemiah 8:10

It is the fittest who triumphs. Your triumphing depends not only on your being fit but on being the fittest. Be triumphant! Do more than your neighbour! – 1 Corinthians 9:25-27

The journey to the top must begin with 100% determination to get there and that determination must never become 99%, even if your leaders think you have aimed too high. – 1 Kings 19:19-21, 2 Kings 2:9-15

No one ever moved from the valley to the mountain top in one step. It is one determined step after another that took man to the top of Mt. Everest. Start small but do not remain small. – Job 8:7

Over the next two weeks (the next two Tuesdays), i will share more points from this book. Do not miss this series and remember to keep all of what you have learnt today in mind.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
