Faith is a way of life. A way of living.
When we declare Christ as our Lord & Savior, God declares us righteous.
Romans 1:17 “This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.””
King James Version says “the just shall live by faith”
Just literally means to declare righteous. To be Righteous means to be right standing with God.
People often confuse righteousness and holiness.
Holiness has to do with the quality of our lives on a daily basis. It is something we are responsible for. Righteousness is Gods responsibility. He makes us righteous. It means paid in full.
There is absolutely nothing we can do to make ourselves more righteous. It is simply right-standing with God.
We ought to be living by faith everyday. Since we are to live by faith, we need to know what faith is.
Faith is a fight. It is the God-kind of life.
1 Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.”
Everything necessary for us to fight the good fight of faith is provided in Gods word, but we have to know it and know how to activate the word by our faith.
Luke 10:19 “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.”
As believers, we have authority over Satan. Nothing shall hurt us in a permanent way.
In a fight, we can get hit, it can hurt but with time we will heal up and never know we were hit so the devil cannot legally put a hurting on us that can remain.
Moreover, Jesus already won the battle over the devil.
Fight the good fight of faith!
Our faith is how we win against the devil.
1 John 5:4 For whosoever is born of God, overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.
That is how we overcome. That is why faith is so important! Satan comes against our life, family, business, profession but we win by faith!
He attacks people and things around us to get our attention off Gods words and focused on those things.
If Satan can separate us from our faith, he will destroy us. He is after our faith not us because that is how we win – with our faith!
Today let us take time to develop our faith.
Faith when tested produces patience.
James 1:2-3 “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.”
Temptations and trials will come, we have been told. No one is exempted.
As we are faced with or come upon temptations and trials we should be glad that we know that the testing of our faith produces patience. We know what we are going through is only temporary and we will come out strong.
We will win with our faith!
We must have faith to please God.
Hebrews 11:6 “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”
We see that faith is not optional. It is a must. This is why it is the number one priority.
