Happy New Year!
I am so excited about 2017. I hope to achieve a lot this year personally and professionally by God’s grace. I pray we all have a fruitful year and that we all draw closer to God so life can be easy regardless of any situation we might find ourselves in.
This is my first article this year and it has been on my heart to write about passing through trials and tribulations. This is something i just recently had a different understanding about.
Trial means a test of the performance, qualities, or suitability of someone or something. – Wikipedia
Tribulation means trouble or affliction of any kind – biblestudytools.com
Sometime in October, i was feeling a bit frustrated. I had not been able to achieve a couple of things i wanted to and to make things worse i was almost broke as i had a lot of bills to pay. House rent, school fees just to mention a few.
I had been praying for provision of funds among other things. I even advertised my skills through social media hoping i get a few jobs i could work on to bring in some money. It was not looking as if anything was coming through hence why i was feeling frustrated.
I woke up not happy and my ‘go to person’ is my dad. I explained all of this to him and also that i was giving up on trusting God to provide because i didn’t understand why i keep pushing and praying for things and not getting answers (so i thought).
He explained to me that when Jesus told His disciples that they will have many trials and tribulations, what i was passing through was an example. He reminded me about when i did not get into university immediately after secondary school and i felt so bad and cried alot because all my friends were in the university and i had go back re take my WAEC exams as i did not have the Maths result i needed to get into the university.
He talked about how well i was doing now and that i was in pain then but i probably do not even think about what happened then. He was right. I had totally forgotten.
Prior to my conversation with my dad, I had always thought that tribulation was a big experience, the death of a loved one maybe or loosing everything you have been able to build or accomplish.
My dad helped me understand that even the daily trials we go through, God knows about it and it is only temporary, for a short while. We most likely won’t even remember the event in months or years to come. Best way to pass through and come out strong is to hold on to God’s word that says we should take heart because he has overcome the world.
So keep trusting in God. Don’t loose faith.
My dad will be featured in my Vlog for this week so he could explain this topic himself. The video will be available on Friday 6th on my YouTube channel. You can search “Biola Jinadu” on YouTube to watch.
John 16:33 New Living Translation
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world
I pray that God gives us the strength to face the trials and tribulations we will pass through in life, Amen. Please meditate on the bible verse above so you remember whenever you are going through tough times.

Just like you said, God knows about everything. We should look at every trial as a test and remember that the teacher (God, in this case) is always quiet during the test.
