When you sin, does The HOLY SPIRIT go away?

No, He doesn’t. Once you receive God’s Spirit, He will ALWAYS be in you. God gave Him to you as a gift because He loves you and knows you will always need help. His love never gives up on you or ends.

When you sin, The Holy Spirit grieves or is sad but He doesn’t leave. A son doesn’t cease being his father’s son so God will never leave you without help.

Scriptural reference: Ephesians 4:20, John 16:7 and Luke 15:11-32

“And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.”

Ephesians 4:30 NLT

Sorrow means sadness, trouble. Grieve means mourn, hurt, sadden.
