Last Friday was our monthly vigil in church and one of the key things I took away from the service was this;
The enemies of God and the children of God make the same mistake. Both parties underrate the power of prayer. – Pastor E.A Adeboye
He reminded us of 2 Corinthians 10 verse 4; “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)”
I thought about this even after I got home and saw I needed to wake up my prayer life. He told us a prayer warrior is more effective than an activist and this is true. (If we look at Paul’s life before and after he got saved)
The word of God is what we should hold on to especially when praying. I’ll share a few bible verses on prayer;
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. (1 Peter 3:12 KJV)
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. (James 4:2 KJV)
And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. (Mark 9:29 KJV)
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. (Proverbs 15:8 KJV)
Keep in mind that it’s the sincerity and faith behind our prayers that make them effective and God lives to answer prayers, this is the best news.
Have a great day 🙂
