Waking home yesterday with my colleague she said something that struck;
"If you have an idea and you do nothing about it, someone else will have it and do something about it."
I've had this thing God laid in my heart a couple of months back and it took me a whole month to take the first step. I was amazed at the response and instead of me to continue, I didn't.
I'm taking having this conversation with my colleague was God cautioning me about how relaxed I got. This is because this was the first time I was having a lengthy conversation with this particular colleague.
Proverbs 22:29 – “Do you see a man skillful and experienced in his work? He will stand [in honor] before kings; He will not stand before obscure men.”
Looking at people who have succeeded, they carried out their ideas and even when they became successful, they continued pressing on. They didn't just relax like I did which is why they get to travel the world and meet great people.
Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
We are created for good works. This good work is your art, whatever you find yourself doing, the ideas God birth in you. Be sure to "walk in them". In other words carry them out.
Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than unto men”
This is a form of worship to God. He has blessed us with the ability to create and work. Moreover, if we do things because we are trying to please someone or some people, they might not even be impressed and this affects you.
But if you work or carry out your ideas as a form of worship to God, you will definitely have satisfaction and fulfillment. This pays.
