How can I deepen my relationship with God?

Honest communication is how you can deepen your relationship with God.

The last person you can hide anything from is God. You might do that with your family or friends and get away with them not finding out how you feel (whether you are depressed or sad) but God knows exactly how you feel even before you tell him.

Sometimes we go through things and we are not even able to bring ourselves to pray because of how downcast we are but at that point is when we need to talk to God so we draw strength from Him to go through whatever it is we might be facing.

Isaiah 41:10 says "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

If we do not share with God how we feel and ask Him for help how then can He help us? How can we even trust that He will help us if we do not speak to Him?

We can only receive help if we ask because when we don't it is assumed we are fine. How else will you get from your parents or friends if you don't ask?

Matthew 7:7 "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be open unto you."

Having honest communication with our friends and family deepens our relationship with them and it is the same with God. We need to let Him in every area of our lives.

Indeed He will let us know how to go about things and speak to us in the way we understand him as individuals.

“Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.”” – Hosea‬ ‭6:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬
