Asking for nothing ?

Reading my Open Heavens devotional this morning, I learnt that I haven’t been getting  from God because I haven’t been asking.

I realized that I just expect God to know I need some things and provide them for me. Sometimes I silently pray about the things I need but I don’t pray with the understanding that He has all things and can do anything.

Most times, it’s after when I’ve tried all my options and it’s not working out and I’m beginning to feel depressed then I just talk to God through my thoughts which isn’t even praying. Lol.

Jesus told his disciples;

““When a woman gives birth, she has a hard time, there’s no getting around it. But when the baby is born, there is joy in the birth. This new life in the world wipes out memory of the pain. The sadness you have right now is similar to that pain, but the coming joy is also similar. When I see you again, you’ll be full of joy, and it will be a joy no one can rob from you. You’ll no longer be so full of questions.

This is what I want you to do: Ask the Father for whatever is in keeping with the things I’ve revealed to you. Ask in my name, according to my will, and he’ll most certainly give it to you. Your joy will be a river overflowing its banks!”

The parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15:25-32, we see there that the older son is an example of we Christians who swim in abundance but hardly ever ask for a bit of it and then get upset when we see other Christians or new converts enjoying God’s blessing.

We should not fail to ask God for what we need. He is waiting for us to ask.

James 4:2 says “You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.”

How much have you asked from God ? He gave you a mouth so ask and ask big! I pray that as we ask today, God will answer is speedily in Jesus name. Amen 🙏🏻😇

Have a great day!
