I have so many “God Lovers” I really admire. Joyce Meyer is one of my favourite. I listened to her message last night on Faith TV, channel 341 on DSTV. Every 8 – 8:30 pm on weekdays she blesses us on different topics. Ensure you tune in today and be blessed as you do.
We can’t presume and assume.
Asking God to do things for us can produce more blessings than when we don’t ask. We can ask him to help us with our hair or cook dinner. Everything!. (This is so heartwarming)
The Holy Spirit can give us grace, good attitude, physical strength, zeal and passion to do whatever we need to do in life.
You can pray about anything and everything. I personally find this so beautiful.
The Holy Spirit brings us the reality of God the father and Jesus.
“But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.” – John 16:7 NIVl
Psalm 10:14 shows you do have a father. The greatest father of all.
“Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior. Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” – Psalm 27:9-10 NIV
With God on our side, there is never any real reason to feel sorry for yourself.
The way we get rewards from God is by doing things His way.
Psalm 38:22 Mark 9:22,24 Hebrews 4:16, Hebrews 13:6
One specific area we should cry to God for help is to do the right thing. You have to first want to do the right thing and be willing to do the right thing.
Obedience almost always brings pain (in your soul or emotion) before it brings pleasure.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” – Matthew 5:9 NIV
There’s nothing better than knowing you have done the right thing. We are to be doers of the word and not just hearers. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9 NIV
We can’t do things without God that’s why He gives us the grace to do things.
I want to do what is right, it is the right thing to do what is right, it makes God happy when I do what is right.
As believers, it’s not okay to act as everybody else does. “Holy Spirit, help me do the right thing”.
Your relationship with the Holy Spirit is enriched when you do little things that nobody sees.
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” – James 1:22 NIV
If your friend upsets you this is how to ask for help;
“Holy Spirit, help me. I refuse to stay angry. Help me please”.
“Holy Spirit, give me something to say to him”.
Forgiveness isn’t about how you feel but how you treat people.
Remember, obedience is almost always pain before pleasure! We don’t have to feel okay every time in order to do the right thing. Don’t let your feelings boss you around.
She concluded her message saying the word of God is the most valuable gift you can give to someone, I absolutely agree!.
